If you've been following the vaping scene in Malta, you might have seen our original article explaining how the vape excise tax was 'coming soon.' Well, it's official now: as of 2025, the excise tax on e-liquids has landed.

The Maltese government now applies an excise tax of €0.13 per millilitre on all vapable liquids, including nicotine-containing e-liquids, nicotine-free e-liquids, nicotine shots, and any base mixed for the intention of inhalation. This change affects every licensed manufacturer and retailer on the island—and yes, that includes us.

What's Changed in Our Store

To adapt to the new regulations while still offering affordable and high-quality options, here are our big changes:

1. Price Drop

Despite the added tax, we've dramatically reduced the base prices of our e-liquids. This means you can still enjoy premium flavours without paying premium prices. Even with the tax included, our final prices remain among the lowest on the island.

2. Longfill Kits Are In

E-liquids sold in containers larger than 10ml now fall under a different category: longfills. These products only contain aromas/flavour concentrates and are not taxed under the excise law. Here's what you get in a typical longfill kit:

• A larger bottle partially pre-filled with flavour concentrate (aroma)

• VG (vegetable glycerin) and PG (propylene glycol) based on your selected ratio

• Optional nicotine shots you can add yourself to reach your desired strength (note: the volume of nicotine shots purchased will be taxed at €0.13 per 1ml)

Why We Did This

We believe vaping should be an affordable, high-quality alternative to smoking—not a luxury product. To align with the new regulations, we've introduced longfill kits designed for clients to mix themselves. These are kits containing separate flavour concentrates, VG, PG, and nicotine shots (optional). Components like flavour concentrates, VG, and PG are not subject to excise tax. Excise tax is applied exclusively on mixed liquids intended for vaping, such as nicotine shots and ready made, purchased e-liquids. We've streamlined our offering to stay fully compliant while still passing on savings to you.
